Currently I am still in the process of submitting my application to Doulos, so there is nothing much to update here. Thus I would use this space to share some lessons and thoughts I have to keep this space alive.
Have you thought about death? I sure did and I actually can’t wait to see God. haha. One of five prayers/commitments I have before God is that, once I have accomplished my purpose on earth, he would take me home so that I would not have an extended chance to bring shame to his name.
So I have no fear of death, then the question is what would I want written on my tombstone? haha. This question probes much deeper than the end itself, but examines the means in which we take to get there. It asks what do you want people to remember you as and for?
For me, it would hopefully read:
“A man of Faith and Love,
Who left behind shoes no one else can fill.”
It speaks of my Faith, not only heard and known, but also seen through actions. My Love for my wife, family and friends. And a Legacy left behind.
Actually my real reason for writing this is to let you know what i would like to be written on my tombstone, so if and when i die, at least i would like what is written on my door. haha, just kidding, haha
I am asking in this game of life, What Does Success Look Like To You? What are characteristics and values you want to be remembered for? Then are you reflecting these principles? Or at least progressing in the right direction.
Many of us set yearly goals, or even set targeted milestones for ourselves, yet when we set goals, shouldn’t we set the biggest goal first, then set smaller goals to chart our path towards our eventual goal.
Life may be a long and big word to many, but i believe each of us have our own principles and picture of our ideal self, with that being a starting point, the journey of life may be a tad bit clearer with the end in mind.
So what would you want written on your tombstone?
